This week Lost in Criterion delves into the short-lived fishing/travel television show devised by, directed by, scored by, and starring Jazz musician and actor John Lurie and an assortment of his friends (specifically Jim Jarmusch, Matt Dillon, Tom Waits, Willem Dafoe, and Dennis Hopper). Why did the Criterion Collection decide to release a television show that only last for six episodes in IFC in 1992 which has attained cult status probably only because the Criterion Collection released it? Who knows, but without them doing so I'd have probably never heard of it and now I've watched the whole thing. Thanks, Criterion Collection! Your inscrutable criteria provides surprises around most turns, some good and some terrible (Armageddon).
