The unforgiving sun of guilt illuminates Lost in Criterion and Insomnia.

Another episode with Enchantment Under the Sea's Stephen Goldmeier, this time discussing Erik Skjoldbjærg's 1997 debut film, Insomnia. This week we dive into a world of relentless guilt and daylight while talking about the pros and cons of remakes and not knowing every language on the planet if you're ever going to watch a film and actually understand it. Subtitles sure do help, but sometimes the difference in language between two characters may be important, and a blanket translation into English of a multi-lingual work might leave something out. We're not sure if it does here, because we're too ignorant to know. But knowing what you don't know is important, and still leads to a stellar conversation.
