Lost in Criterion goes High and Low this week.

The Japanese name for Akira Kurosawa's 1968 crime drama translates closer to Heaven and Hell, and that's a pretty apt description of the emotional pivots of this film, starring Toshiro Mifune who -- and this cannot be stressed enough -- is probably the greatest actor of the 20th century. Donovan Hill joins us one more time before retirement to talk about a different sort of police procedural than he did the last time he was here. Give it a listen, won't you?
