Mad that 25 years after this Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing is still as timely as ever because the world, America, hasn't changed. No matter how much many of us like to pretend that it has, like to pretend that even in 1989 Lee was just needlessly stirring up emotions. It's a wonderfully shot, written, and acted film as well. Required viewing, really.
In this episode I talk a lot about the Cannes press junket that's on the Criterion DVD and is great. It's on youtube (link to part 1 of 4), and I recommend it.
Watch the film. Watch the press conference. Then maybe listen to Pat and I talk about it on this week's Lost in Criterion?
