You can lead a horse to library, but you can't make him read.

This week Lost in Criterion is talking Gregory La Cava's My Man Godfrey, one of his two 1936 comedies that are both great. Carole Lombard stars as the lovestruck Irene who insists that the William Powell's hobo (and uninterested) Godfrey should be her family's new butler. Hilarity ensues. Seriously! It's a great film.
