More Maysles this week as we move on to what maybe their most famous work, 1975's Grey Gardens. A look into the lives of Big Edie and Little Edie Beale, two eccentrics who have retreated from high society into their dilapidated home, Grey Gardens straddles the line between journalism and voyeurism.
Friend and moviemaker Wrion Bowling joins us to talk about exploitation and the different versions of Grey Gardens that exist across the multiverse. Wrion is also the co-writer/co-director of Shelter, a great little indie sci-fi psychological thriller that will be available on Amazon, at Walmart, and quite possible in a RedBox near you starting April 21, 2015. I highly recommend it.
So go buy Shelter and give this week's Lost in Criterion a listen.
