Contempt finds director Jean-Luc Godard dealing with overbearing producers who want to sex up his art film while making a movie about an overbearing producer (Jack Palance) who wants to sex up Fritz Lang's art film version of the Odyssey -- a film I would absolutely love to actually see. Godard solves his problems by showing Brigitte Bardot's butt in the opening scene while going out of his way to de-sexify her in much of the rest of the film. Palance just flirts with Bardot while her husband, Michel Piccoli as screenwriter, does punch-ups. It's probably my favorite Godard film I've seen, though as the episode makes clear, at recording time I'd only seen three of them. Still! It's fantastic!
